About the Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization
The Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization is thrilled to call New Berlin and the West Performing Arts Center its new home!
The Miss Wisconsin Competition is the official state preliminary competition to the Miss America Opportunity, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Opportunity and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and in-kind scholarship assistance. Scholarship is at the forefront of the Miss America mission as nearly all contestants have either received, or are in the process of earning, college or postgraduate degrees.
Each of these talented and educated women promotes a personal community service initiative in addition to championing national organization partnerships with the American Heart Association, USO and Best Buddies.
The Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Competition is held annually in June as a week-long event spotlighting women from around the state, making a difference in their communities. The week of activities includes visits with local organizations and sponsors, Night to Ignite Gala, two evenings of preliminary competition and culminating with the final competition and crowning of Miss Wisconsin. The Miss Wisconsin’s Teen Competition is also held during competition week. Tickets to the annual competition go on-sale in March prior to the competition.
The Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization operates under the direction of a dedicated team of volunteers. They serve as members of the Board of Directors, sub-committees, production team, and field directors who assist local competitions throughout the state.
Three of our Miss Wisconsins have gone on to win the coveted, historic Miss America crown: Terry Anne Meeuwsen of De Pere was crowned Miss America 1973, Laura Kaeppeler of Kenosha received the crown in 2012, and Grace Stanke of Wausau earned the title in 2023.
